The ever-elusive PJ Harvey played a one-off solo gig at Britain's Hay Festival on May 26 -- her first live performance since 2004. Polly Jean, wearing what she called a "1940s war dress," took the opportunity to debut new songs including 'Bitter Little Bird' and 'The Mountain' on the piano (a first). She also said a new album had been written entirely for the piano and is due next year.

Meanwhile, the notoriously guarded rocker just released her first-ever live DVD titled 'PJ Harvey: Please Leave Quietly,' which features footage from her and European tours in support of 2004's 'Uh Huh Her.' The DVD offers a glimpse behind the scenes as well as the previously unreleased tracks 'Evol' and 'Uh Huh Her.'
