While Fall Out Boy were nominated for multiple Moonmen at the VMAs, lead singer Patrick Stump's mind was on other things. "I'm actually way more excited about the performance tonight then I am about anything else," he told Popeater. "I don't even know what we're up for. I'm just looking forward to playing."The boys, who hosted a suite that featured performances from Cobra Starship, Rihanna and Panic! At the Disco, among others, are all about performing these days. They head out on the 'Young Wild Things' tour this fall with VMA Best New Artist winners Gym Class Heroes, Plain White T's and Cute is What We Aim For.
Bassist Pete Wentz tells Popeater that fans can expect a different vibe on this tour. "It's gonna be a little bit more intimate than our last tour," Wentz says. "We're gonna do an ambient stage show so there's going to be more depth and air to it than the last tour, which was like, 'Fire, fire, fire.'"
Is there a reference point fans can draw on to get an idea for a preview? "[Children's book] 'Where the Wild Things Are' definitely -- going from your bedroom to the forest," Wentz says.
