Paul Potts to Play for the Queen

'Britain's Got Talent' winner Paul Potts has done pretty good for himself. He's sold more than two million copies of his debut album and landed a coveted spot on 'Oprah Winfrey,' but this opera-singing U.K. favorite admits that none of that makes him as nervous as his upcoming gig. The 37-year-old tenor has been invited to perform for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh at the 79th Royal Variety Performance on December 3, at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool.

The now-annual event began in 1912 with a variety performance for King George V and Queen Mary, and has been entertaining the British royalty and public ever since. This year Paul Potts will be joined by James Blunt, Seal, Enrique Iglesias and Bon Jovi. The event will be televised on Britain's ITV1.
