It's a wrap, folks! After nearly five years, Celine Dion said farewell to her Las Vegas show, 'A New Day,' at Caesars Palace on Saturday night. Since its opening in March 2003, the spectacle managed to rake in over $400 million, one of the highest records in music history. After performing hits such as a teary-eyed rendition of 'My Heart Will Go On,' an emotional Dion told the crowd, "It's hard to believe that we've come to an end. It's a pleasure to perform for you, but I'm extremely passionate to be a mother." Regarding her decision to end the show, the singer has made it known that she considers motherhood to be one of her most important successes.
During her final bow, Dion's 7-year-old son, Rene Charles, gave his mother a rose, while husband Rene Angelil embraced the both of them. Afterwards, the Canadian diva celebrated with a well-deserved after-show party at Pure, one of the hottest clubs in Vegas.
Starting February 20, Bette Midler takes over the $10-million-dollar stage with 'The Showgirl Must Go On.'
