Why He's About to Pop: Secondhand Serenade is the moniker for John Vesely, a California-based singer-songwriter who knows a thing or two about pouring his heart out into song. Once MySpace's No. 1 unsigned artist, Vesely is embarking on a new journey with his latest album, 'A Twist in My Story,' on Glassnote Records. On the follow-up to his 2006 release, 'Awake,' Vesely worked with mega-producers Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails, Angels & Airwaves) and Butch Walker (Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects) to achieve his earnest sound.

After a whirlwind year of TV appearances ('The Conan O'Brien Show,' 'The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch') and nationwide tours with the likes of Plain White T's, All American Rejects and Hawthorne Heights, 2008 is looking bright and bound to be Secondhand Serenade's year.

Three Questions with John Vesely:

What inspired the songs on your record?

The past two years have been pretty crazy. A lot has happened and my life has changed in a big way with my music taking off. 'A Twist in My Story' is pretty much about how the change has affected my personal life. It pretty much goes over everything from the great to the catastrophic.

If you could have any musician's career other than your own, whose would it be?

I'm not sure I'd like to have anyone else's career. I'd miss out on all the fun of getting to that point. Every artist takes their own path and creates their success in different ways. It's not just about your music, but how you progress. I couldn't be happier with where I'm at right now and I couldn't ask for any more. I'm grateful for making it this far. With that said, I wouldn't mind a platinum record or two.

If we looked inside your refrigerator, what would we find?

Right now? I don't have a refrigerator. I just moved and haven't gotten one yet. If I had one ... You would probably find a case of sugar free Red Bulls, all the usual condiments and hot sauces (i.e. Dave's Insanity Sauce), lunch meats, lettuce and string cheese.
