11 Questions With Enrique Iglesias

We know Madrid-born Enrique Iglesias as an international singing superstar, with worldwide hits in his native tongue as well as massive crossover success with English-language songs. With a Spanish-language greatest-hits album on its way in late March, and a new song, 'Push,' on the 'Step Up 2 the Streets' soundtrack, the Madrid-born son of romantic pop legend Julio Iglesias reveals several things we might not know quite as well about him in the course of answering the following 11 Questions.

1. Being a big basketball fan, what do you think of the trade of Shaqille O'Neal to Phoenix?

Is that for real? I saw it on TV, I thought it was a joke. I was going to sleep when they said something, I don't know. That's crazy. It's gonna be interesting.

2. What is one band you think gets totally underappreciated that you love?
U2 [laughs]. I'm kidding. I love U2. I think they're one of the best bands in the world by far. They're amazing.

3. What are your two favorite songs to dance to?
'Macho Man,' by the Village People, and 'You Spin Me Round (Like a Record),' by Dead or Alive.

4. Do you have a favorite dance movie?

I think I lived in Spain when 'Breakin'' came out. I remember going to see it when I was a little kid and that movie sticks in my mind. It blew me away. That's the first time I kind of saw -- with me living in Spain -- break dancing and the guy doing the robot and all those great moves.

5. What's one song you'd love to translate into Spanish?

Translations are so difficult: A lot of times you lose the meaning and then you change truly what it's talking about.

6. What is your one must-have accessory or item when you're on tour?
The one thing I need to bring is a good sound system.

7. What is your biggest phobia?
When I was a little kid, my biggest phobia was wells, like water wells, like the one in the movie 'The Ring.'

8. What is your favorite soundtrack?
I love the music to 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' -- John Williams. I have the music of that movie and it reminds me of when I was a kid. The music he's done for movies, I think he's absolutely genius.

9. Do you have a favorite actor, one you'd go see every movie he does?
I like Vince Vaughn a lot. I think he's brilliant and he's one of those actors that his comedy is amazing, but even as a bad guy he's also good.

10. Who was your first celebrity crush?
Kim Basinger.

11. Who would you want to play you in a biopic?
I don't know. No one comes to mind.
