New York progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria will introduce the first five issues of singer Claudio Sanchez's comic book mini-series, 'The Amory Wars,' as a graphic novel during the New York Comic-Con, running April 18-20. Sanchez will be signing copies of the book at the Evil Ink and Image Comic booths. "It was definitely a learning experience releasing these five," Sanchez told AOL Music from his upstate New York home. "There were certainly ups and downs. We had an artist leave after the second book.
"I hadn't really written anything like this before, although I had attempted with a couple stories -- 'The Second Stage Turbine Blade' and the 'Good Apollo' graphic novel," he continues. "This time around, it was a proper schedule. It's nice to know that it is all catalogued in one piece."
Meanwhile, Sanchez is working on the second stage story now. He expects that to be released in June. "The second stage story is the band's first album but it happens to be the second story of the saga," he explains. "This paperback only takes you to the halfway point of that story."
Coheed and Cambria are currently "toying around" with new music material, but Sanchez says that the band have yet to record any of the tunes.
