Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz Announce Engagement

Ashlee Simpson and longtime boyfriend, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, are engaged. Cue the tears, emo kids. Simpson confirmed the news herself in a post on the website friendsorenemies.com. "We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best," she wrote. "Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged."

"Thank you for all of your support and well wishes," the message continues. "It means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us." Simpson, 23, and Wentz, 28, have been a couple since 2006.

Ashlee Simpson plans to release a new studio album, 'Bittersweet World' on April 22. Meanwhile, Wentz just launched his own fashion line of "fun, art-themed tops." The clothes are exclusive to Clandestine Industries and BP . Nordstrom.
