Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus 'Breakout' Beef

1. Here's the facts on this: This song was not written for Katy Perry and was never given to her. She was brought in as the demo singer. At the time she hadn't become an artist and had no record deal. That was a year and a half ago. After the demo was made, the song was sent to Miley Cyrus' A&R guy at Hollywood records. They loved it, but it was too late to get it on her last record. AND Miley felt that it would be a great song for her next record as Miley Cyrus only, because it sort of represented to her the idea of breaking away from the Hannah character and showing herself (hence the album title "Breakout"). Katy decided to put her demo version on the internet so that she could try to embarrass Miley after Miley dissed her regarding the girl-kiss offer from Katy. Plain and simple, the song was meant for Miley from the time the demo was finished, and it was never Katy Perry's song. Katy was the demo singer. Besides, it is obvious that the song wasn't written for Katy who's in her mid 20s - the song is about someone in high school! These are the facts, and I ask all the Miley fans to please help spread the word. Thanks

2. I think it was more a demo than a cover. I really don't think there is a feud between Miley and Katy, and I don't think Katy is pissed off that Miley doesn't want to kiss her. I think Miley said the thing about harmonies and backup as a joke to diffuse a potentially explosive situation. People were all ready calling Katy a pedophile/child molestor over the kiss, if anything, Miley helped Katy. I don't know if they're friends, but I doubt there's a feud.

3. i agree with the person above me, i don't think there is any
REAL "beef" between them. I don't really like Miley, though, and i kinda like Katys better. Miley has a better voice, but katys just pops more to me. And Katy perrys allowed to sing about anything, like kissing girls, miley would be trashed all over the web if she sang that. anywayzzers, it doesn't matter if katys older its still good.

4. Just based on the way it sounds (yes I have read all of the above comments) Katy sounds much better singing it. It's more appropriate for Miley, but Katy's style of singing and voice is much nicer.

5. i think the song is better suited for miley because of her age, but neither her nor katy attend high school. i think that katy sounds much better singing the song though because she is a better singer over all. i dont believe that miley actually has as much talent as most people would like to believe. the only reason she sounds semi-decent on the radio and on tv is because they do things to make her voie sound better, and the only reason she sounds good in concert is because she donest sing live. if you look at some videos of her perfomances she moves the mic to far away from her mouth and the sound level is always the same. i believe that katy would have a bigger career than miley if miley's father wasnt so famous.

6. I think it's more appropriate for Miley Cyrus because it talks about getting up early for school and she's a teenager, whereas Katy Perry is already grown up and doesn't need to sing about this stuff.

7. Miley Cyrus' version sounds so much better. Katy Perry sounds too old for this song and Miley Cyrus has a better voice.

10. i think mileys is awesome and it fits her cuz shes a high school student.katies in her 20s and i admit that wen i heard katies version it was amazing....but i sorta still like mileys better.miley has a great voice and it just appealed to me more..GO MILEY!!!!!ur an awesome singer and there so many ppl out there who su pport and love u.keep up the awesome work!=]

11. I think Katy is a total bitch personally. She has no class. She writes great music but she thinks she's amazing when (I think) she isn't. I think Miley has made her mistakes but she's an overall great person whereas Katy really isn't so fabulous. And I think if you do a cover of someone's work, it means you admire them. If Katy originally sang it, then she should be flattered by Miley's cover of her song. Either way, I don't think they're in a feud. Rock on Miley! ♥

Perry is a one-hit wonder that cashed in by singing about an immature fascination for boys that has already been done twice before her.
Miley is a complete b*tch who has a problem with every other girl in the world who takes attention away from her *selena gomez* and she is waay past the squeeky clean image that disney intended and they clearly can't control her any more.
ALSO, this also happened with some unknown pop singer after fergie took her song.
The song is not more appropriate for Miley because she doesn't go to school like a regular teenager and she's already into questionable photo scandals like an adult.

15. well i think people hate on miley too much. trust me, im not a miley fan, but i definently think this song fits miley way more. and i think it will be recognized more, being from miley. katy perry is just has one good song. miley's been around for a while, and has proved to be DECENT. so come on ppl :P STOP HATING. we're all jealous
