'Deranged Fan' Lunges for Zac Efron

(Oct. 9) -- Zac Efron is used to dodging the eager outreached hands of his screeching tween fans, but a middle-aged male reaching for the 'High School Musical' heartthrob isn't an every day occurrence.
According to The Daily Sun, a "deranged" man screamed and pointed a finger at Efron and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens as the couple left a British theater on Wednesday night. Things then escalated as the eyeglassed man reportedly lunged for Efron and tried grabbing his hair. Security quickly stepped in between and restrained the man.

The Daily Mail reports that a 'deranged' man wearing glasses, seen pictured, yelled and pointed at 'High School Musical' star Zac Efron, and then lunged and tried to grab the actor's hair.

"Some guy was just stood near the door where Zac and Vanessa emerged. He just reached over and grabbed the side of Zac's head. There was no provocation. It all turned into a bit of a mess," an onlooker told The Daily Mail.
"He was shouting all kinds of things at Zac. Their security team eventually dealt with it. They had to bundle Zac into a car, but at one point it looked as though the man was going to be pushed into it with him," the witness said.
According to the Daily Mail report, Efron was not injured and the police were not called.
