Why They're About to Pop: Varsity Fanclub is comprised of Drew Ryan Scott, Jayk Purdy, Thomas Fiss, Bobby Edner and David Lei Brandt. The five members of this nouveau boy band were discovered by a traditional audition process, which sought to create a dance-oriented pop and R&B group for a new generation. Each member has a unique background in music, as well as acting for film and televsion. Varsity Fanclub recorded 'Future Love,' co-written by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, which became their breakout debut single. Now the boys are readying for their self-titled album to be released on January 13. "We're not just going through the motions," Purdy says. "We're going to entertain you."

What are your favorite songs on the record and why?
Thomas: 'Lost Then Found' and 'Future Love.' It's the funnest to perform and play acoustically when we do radio interviews
David: 'Lost Then Found' and 'Maybe This is Love.' I love performing both of them, and 'Maybe This is Love' has such a nice vibe to it.
Drew: 'Lookin for Love.' It's fun to listen to while I drive.
Bobby: 'Lost Then Found.' I think Ryan Tedder is a genius and it reminds me of One Republic.
Jayk: 'Bad Habit' and 'Future Love.' I love what 'Bad Habit' is about, and 'Future Love' has such an amazing concept.

What did you think life as a musician would be like and how does it compare to what it's really like for you now?
It's a lot more work than people think. We knew coming in to it that it was going to be a challenge and a lot of hard work was ahead of us. Performing and meeting our fans is definitely the pay off and makes everything worth it. Traveling the country has been so much fun. If you see our tour van, wave.
How do you come up with your choreography and does it come easily?
We have an amazing choreographer named Richard Jackson. It normally takes about a week to learn a song and perfect it. Richard has such amazing ideas and knows how to get the best qualities out of us onstage.
Who, in your opinion, is the ultimate boy band?
The Beatles, period ... PERIOD.
