'Morning Joe' Host Brzezinski Mugged

(Dec. 18) - Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC's morning show was mugged out of $6 Thursday morning while standing outside a posh Washington DC hotel, and her 'Morning Joe' co-host Joe Scarborough is "furious" about it.
During a segment on 'Morning Joe' shortly before an interview with Washington mayor Adrian Fenty, a visibly upset Scarborough recounted Brzezinski's experience even though she appeared embarrassed and less than thrilled to talk about it on the air.
"A guy comes up to her and says 'give me your money and nothing will happen to you'," Scarborough said. Brzezinski said the mugger demanded $20 but all she had was $6.
She told her furious co-host that she was fine and reasoned that the mugger "probably needed the money."
Scarborough directed the bulk of his displeasure with the hotel management for the seemingly absent security detail.
"It's infuriating to me that this hotel had a guest right outside the door, and there was no security at all ... she goes out there and was mugged!"
Later, Brzezinski got to discuss the incident with Mayor Fenty, who promised to "look at" the problem "and work with the hotel and the police department."
Skip over this content"Mayor it was six dollars, it's OK," Brzezinski said. "I love that hotel. I'll need six dollars before I leave the bureau is all."
According to the Washington Post "that hotel" is the Ritz-Carlton in Georgetown.
