(Jan. 12) - Elisabeth Hasselbeck finally scored some face time with President Bush during his final days in the Oval Office, a month after White House holiday party planners forgot to send the 'View' co-host an invite to the annual Christmas party.

"Taylor shows his affection by head-butting people, so he also engaged in that with the President" she said. "He clocked the President in the head."
"It was eye-opening for someone who has even supported him to be in his presence and be able to comfortably talk with him," she said. "He is so not the caricature that we have been fed for so long. He is a good man, and I hope that people at least give credit where credit is due as he exits and this transition happens."
Hasselbeck, who was also with husband Tim and daughter Grace, said her visit "felt historic and comfortable in the same moment."
'View' co-host Sherri Shepherd was also in Washington, but didn't fare as well as Hasselbeck. "I didn't get cleared to get in the White House," she deadpanned. "Well, I'm not surprised," Joy Behar joked.
Viewers will have to wait until the Jan. 19 episode of the show to find out what happened to Shepherd.
Hasselbeck created a stir on Dec. 17 when she complained of not getting an invite to the White House Christmas party, but the administration responded by saying she was invited but that it was "simply an oversight."
