(Feb. 11) - On Oscar night, 'Project Runway' style guru Tim Gunn and 'Good Morning America' anchor Robin Roberts will team up to host the pre-show red carpet festivities on ABC.
Roberts, Gunn and Sam Champion -- who will have his own Oscar segments beginning next Thursday -- sat down to talk with PopEater about their Academy Award duties, what it means to them as well as the audience, and a little bit of 'Project Runway' gossip.
Roberts expressed her initial trepidation about taking the assignment as well as her excitement about working with Gunn.

"When I got the call about doing it I was like 'ehh ehh eh' and they said 'You will be working with Tim Gunn' and I said 'Where do I sign on?' because I know I'll be in great hands."
The 'Runway' mentor echoed his co-host's enthusiasm.
"When I heard about Robin, I flipped," he says.
In non-Oscar news, Gunn laments he doesn't know when the new 'Project Runway' season will air.
"Regrettably no news on 'Project Runway.' I don't know when it will be back, but I can assure you about this, it is a fantastic season and we'll conclude it all on Friday Feb. 20 when we have our season six finale."
Back to the Academy Awards, Champion chimed in with his thoughts on Oscar night.
"This year people are incredibly excited about the movies and the stars that will be there. It is something that people need ... We need to feel good about our films and our awards shows," he explains.
Fashion-wise, is there anyone in particular they are looking forward to seeing?
"It's that element of who knows, of surprise. We're excited about seeing everybody," Gunn reveals.
The 'GMA' anchor admitted she is curious about what Angelina Jolie would be wearing, but is eager to spot the mix of veteran actors and first time Oscar-goers.

"I like the mix of those that have been there and done that [like] Meryl Streep .... and then you have the cast of 'Slumdog Millionaire' and this is their first time, and you've seen them on the red carpet at other places and they're just so alive and so excited about being there."
Robin concedes she doesn't know what she'll look like that day.
"I don't know what I'll be wearing but I have thought about it. I'm going to even let the 'Good Morning America' audience kind of weigh in a little bit. I'm going to show them different dresses and let them have a say."
"I think you have to be comfortable in what you're wearing. I like the simple clean lines," she adds.
