(Feb. 23) - Madonna made a bold move on Saturday when she attended the Vanity Fair Oscars Pre-Party without a date. Even though she was busy schmoozing with Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow and Sacha Baron Cohen, the queen of pop wasn't with her 22-year-old model "friend" Jesus Luz, who was reportedly going as her plus one. Did the idle chatter force Madonna to keep Luz in hiding?

Last week, OK! Magazine reported that Madonna wanted to show the world her new boy-toy during the Vanity Fair party. "Madonna and Jesus have spent all week planning their outfits for Oscar night," a friend of Madonna reportedly told OK!. But it appears the singer decided to squash those rumors by showing up alone.

Earlier this month, the 50-year-old singer posed in a racy W Magazine photo spread with the Brazilian model sparking rumors that the two were working off set as well. Even creative Director Dennis Freedman said the singer and model had "obvious chemistry."
Madonna and Luz have been spotted together in Rio and New York City. Sources told OK that "Everyone knows... they are kissing and doing other things but without any obligation of being faithful or getting into a relationship afterward."
