K-Fed Wants to Clothe Your Kids

(Feb. 25) - These days the recession even has Kevin Federline thinking a $500 pair of jeans for his kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James is a little steep. With his rap career on "hiatus," Britney Spears' ex has been scanning trade shows in Las Vegas to help inspire his latest venture: children's clothing designer. "I'm trying to make a quality product for kids but not have parents pay like $500 or something ridiculous for a pair of jeans," Federline told Women's Wear Daily.

Federline wants to show the world he's serious about his latest project and is in talks with Gerard Guez about a licensing deal. "It's a really tough business. I'm trying to take it seriously," he said.

Earlier this month, Federline made an overnight stop at the Project trade show in Las Vegas to do research for his children's clothing line, WWD reports.

He said the perils of buying clothing for his children inspired him to create a new recession-style clothing line. "You buy your kids a pair of True Religions then they roll around in the dirt like kids do and a $200 pair of jeans is gone. With this economy, I'm looking to do something much more reasonable," Federline said.
