(March 10) - Wholesome family show 'American Idol' is flirting with adult entertainment in an unexpected way. In the past, producers of 'American Idol' have secured numbers 1-866-IDOLS-01 through 1-866-IDOLS-12 for fans to use when voting for their favorite 'Idol' contestant. The addition of a thirteenth competitor for the first time in the history of the show brings up an unprecedented issue: 1-866-IDOLS-13 is currently run by a phone sex operation.

It seems the producers of 'American Idol' have two choices - abandon the old sequence of digits, or buy the extra numbers from teleservice provider Intimate Encounters, Inc. And if it's the former... will Ryan Seacrest explain the change of format on the air?
