Imus Talks About Treatment:
There is no word on the prognosis for the 68-year-old entertainer, who said he was diagnosed last Wednesday. The National Cancer Institute defines stage II prostate cancer as "cancer that began in the prostate and is more advanced than stage I, but has not grown outside the prostate."
WABC reports that Imus wore black sunglasses and slumped behind his microphone while delivering the news to his audiences and speculated that the cancer may have come from stress.
The always-outspoken Imus found himself in the center of a media storm in 2007 after he called members of the Rutgers Women's Basketball team "nappy-headed hos." He apologized, but the once prominent broadcaster was fired by CBS and MSNBC over the controversy.
Imus returned to the airwaves later in 2007 when he was hired by ABC Radio Networks and cable's RFD-TV.
