Swayze Laments Loss of 'Rare' Richardson

(March 24) - "The world will be a different place" without Natasha Richardson, her 'Waking Up in Reno' costar Patrick Swayze said in a statement on Monday.

"It is such a great loss to this community to lose an actress and person such as Natasha. Gifts like her don't come along very often. It's a rare thing in this industry to have someone with so much talent, beauty, and dedication and yet is imbued with such humility. I know for me and many other people, the world will be a different place without her."

He adds: "My heart goes out to Liam and his two boys, but I'm sure that Natasha's light is shining down on them."

Richardson died March 18 at a Manhattan hospital after falling while skiing at a resort in Quebec. Days later, the New York City medical examiner's office said Richardson suffered from an epidural hematoma, which causes bleeding between the skull and the brain's covering.

A somber group of friends and family gathered in Lithgow, NY on Sunday to say final farewell to the Tony Award-winning actress in a small funeral. Her husband, Liam Neeson, was one of the pallbearers.

Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January of 2008.
