Although PEOPLE reports that Mayer has been spending time with a new lady, the 'Waiting on the World to Change' singer says otherwise.
Cocktail waitress and aspiring actress Scheana Marie Jancan tells the magazine, "We're friends. He's a great guy. He's funny and sweet."
Sources say Jancan and Mayer met at the Beverly Hills cigar club Grand Havana Room, where Jancan tends bar. Jancan, 23, who has modeled in ads for Pioneer, Doritos, Nissan and Toyota, will appear on an episode of the Jonas Brothers' upcoming series 'Jonas.'

"They've spent time together over the past few months," a source tells PEOPLE of the pair. "They're enjoying getting to know each other."
However, Mayer himself denies being in a relationship with anyone.
"If I had a girlfriend, she would be incredibly offended by me saying 'I DON'T have a girlfriend,' so that's the proof," he tells X17.
