Alleged party animal Jonathan Rhys Meyers claims his reputation is undeserved, and despite rumors to the contrary, says he did not check into a treatment facility for alcohol addiction. Speculation on his condition was fueled by a few missed awards ceremonies and television appearances.
Now the actor explains, "I just felt I needed time off and I didn't need to go to awards ceremonies. You can get slightly waylaid as an actor doing that sort of thing and I'm never that comfortable at them anyway."
