Yet another musician has laid claim on Coldplay's hit tune 'Vida La Vida' - after the band told a federal court that it did not copy parts of Joe Satriani's music, Cat Stevens (aka Yusuf Islam) has accused Coldplay of basing the song on his 1970s track 'Foreigner Suite.'
It's not that we don't believe in intellectual property or the existence of plagiarism, but we're going to go out on a limb here: we think with a finite number of chord progressions available in Western music, a little retreaded ground is inevitable. It's all in what you do with it, right? Here are our top ten sound-alike songs - they may be uncannily similar, but we have room in our hearts for all.
