When we heard the first whispers that Zachary Quinto would play Spock in J.J. Abrams 'Star Trek' reinvention, we were thrilled. He had the look, the mannerisms. Everything it seems, except the ability to do Spock's signature salute.
A source tells the New York Post that the star "couldn't train his fingers to do the 'live long and prosper' Vulcan salute."

The source says that Quinto tried tying rubber bands around his fingers with no success before Abrams "glued Zachary's fingers together during filming."
