As the 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' prepare to make their debut on Bravo tonight, we prepare ourselves for another season of fancy cars, spa treatments, catered food and high-end clothing. There are raves, including the New York Times, that calls it the best 'Housewives' yet. It made us sad to think about all of the classic bits of New Jersey that will never see the light of day on the show. So without delay, here are ten Jersey treasures we'd like to introduce the ladies to. Only after getting to know them will they become real housewives of New Jersey.
10. Johnny and Hanges because a deep fried dog all the way from this Fair Lawn staple beats any of those fancy salads those ladies love to eat. See Also: Callahan's, Rutt's Hutt.
9. The Nerds because these Jersey shore staples have been rocking faithful covers since 1985.
8. Produce Pete because the housewives could learn a lot about their fancy salads from Pete Napolitano and his Fresh Harvest shop in Elmwood Park.
7. Weird NJ because the faithful contributors of this magazine have been covering the darker side of the Garden State since 1989.
6. Mack's Pizza because a slice of their pie (followed by some hot waffles with ice cream) while walking on the Wildwood Crest boardwalk sums up summers at the Jersey shore.
5. Crust and Crumb Elephant Ears because breakfast while on summer vacation at Long Beach Island isn't complete without them.

4. The Wrens because these indie darlings from Jersey frustrate fans by refusing to work at a normal pace. They've only released two albums over the past 13 years -- 'Secaucus' in 1996 and 'The Meadowlands' in 2003.
3. Wine Library because this wine shop in Springfield has become an East Coast oenophile Mecca thanks to the mad skillz of its director of operations -- Gary Vaynerchuk -- who used the Web to turn the Robert Parker ratings model on its ear. Click Below for a Classic Wine Library Episode
2. Uncle Floyd Vivino because this classic Jersey entertainer predated Pee-Wee Herman with his 'Uncle Floyd Show.' Vivino claims to own the largest collection of Italian records in the world (25,000+) and can still be found playing piano at Collucci's in North Haledon every Tuesday night.
1. Fountains of Wayne because this Jersey landmark just closed its doors last month after 40 years of providing the ultimate in tacky sculptures for lawns everywhere. The 'Housewives' could have spent some of their megabucks to keep it afloat. After all, the place was so cool that a band named themselves after it. And of course, 'The Sopranos' shot an episode there. Find Out More About the Landmark from Where It's At
