Skip over this contentHow excited for 'So Glad I'm Me'? "I'm very excited. It's been two years since I've been on [Idol,] so it's one of those things where I know that people were like 'When are you coming out with your album? Is the album out yet' and so I'm glad that it's finally here."
Do you have a favorite song on it? "I have two. One would be 'Beautiful Girls' about my daughter ... Brionne ... that song is dedicated to her. The other song would be 'Free.' It's about living life and being who you are. "
Can you describe the sound of your album? "[It's] a mixture of gospel, pop and R&B all in one. With my album, it's very important to listen to the lyrics, [they] tell a story ? my story."
What's next? I know you're pregnant ? "I'm having another little girl in August. So of course that's going to take some time for me to get back on track and get things going. Once I release my load then I can get on the road and be back in full force."
Would you ever return to Broadway? "I would love to do Broadway again. You can quote me on that, she is open to do Broadway, so go head and call her, book her ? I just want to do it all."
Is your daughter excited to be a big sister? "Oh God, yes. She is excited. Actually I talked to her ... and she says "I want to talk to my sister." So our thing is ... I put the phone on my stomach and she's like "Oh hi Avie? because the baby's name is going to be Ava and she's like "I?ll see you when ? you come back with mommy."
What's it like being a celebrity mom? "That's weird you said 'celebrity' because I don't use that word ever. I don't feel like I?m a celebrity. I'm just LaKisha, the young lady who had a dream of singing and who was presented the opportunity through 'American Idol' to do what I love to do. But it's definitely a juggle -- motherhood and being a wife and trying to have a career all at the same time. I just take it one day at a time and try to pace myself."
How is married life? "Married life is work, definitely. It?s another full time job. But it's great, I'm happy, I have a great husband who is very supportive of what I do."
Who is your favorite non-season 6 singer -- winner or not? "Fantasia. She has a beautiful voice, her story is similar to mine and we related to each other in many different ways ... She's a real person."
Are you watching this season? "I have been."
Who's been your favorite? "I don't have one ? they are all really good. One thing I do like about Adam is that he's unique. He can go from being a rocker with painted nail polish to clean cut, modern day Elvis Presley."
Who do you think is going to win? "It may have a twist ... no one really knows how many people voted for each contestant ... you never know what the outcome is ... it could be Kris Allen."
This year it's the first year there have been three men in the top three and no women, how do you feel about that? "I think there was a lot of talented young ladies that they passed up on. Allison, you know she was home at four, she was very, very talented ? she can really sing. She was very unique ? But it's one of those things, you never know."
What do you think of the new judge, Kara DioGuardi?"I think she's the reason that the show goes over because it's a different dynamic with four people, you have all these people singing and there?s really just enough time to get our songs done. Then when you have everybody talking but kind of saying the same thing ... it doesn't work. I'm glad I'm not there for 4 judges."
Simon has talked about leaving 'Idol,' do you think it could survive without him?"I think before they let Simon go, they'll stop the show. I really do, because he makes the show, people tune in to see just what Simon's going to say ... He makes [it] fun."
Will we ever see you back on the 'Idol' stage? "I hope so. I hope to be on the stage next year. I really do. I hope they will call me and let me grace my presence on that stage one more time, with my own music."
