Gordon Ramsay has made a post-chef career out of yelling, calling people names and breaking down their pride in front of others. Generally, that type of treatment is reserved for his reality show contestants, so many found it shocking when his ire was aimed at an Australian journalist during a food show this past weekend.
Ramsay was speaking at the Good Food and Wine Show in Melbourne, Australia when he launched into a slur-filled tirade against a female journalist, who he called a "lesbian." Ramsay also went on to insult her looks, saying writer Tracy Grimshaw "needs to see Simon Cowell's Botox doctor."

Ramsay and his spokesperson both claim that he was kidding and that he and Grimshaw have a good, joking relationship, but Grimshaw and other event-goers weren't so entertained.
Grimshaw is firing back against Ramsay, telling 'A Current Affair' that hearing the comments made her "absolutely miserable," and that while Ramsay "says it was a joke ... Well not to me, or anyone who cares about me. Truly I wonder how many people would laugh if they were effectively described as a old, ugly pig. How is that funny exactly?"

She goes on to take her own shots at Ramsay, calling him an "arrogant narcissist."
One mother who was at the event with her two children also laced into Ramsay and his "disgusting" rant, saying that the event "is meant for families. That was way out of order."
As the controversy ramped up, Ramsay's spokesperson Sarah Armstrong tried to calm things down, saying that Ramsay "really respects Tracy Grimshaw as a journalist. It was just a joke."
