Just a few short weeks after the 'American Idol' finale, Adam Lambert's post-'Idol' career is kicking off with a newly signed record deal for a debut album expected in the fall.
Lambert signed a deal with 19 Entertainment and RCA Recordings for his full length debut.
"I'm thrilled that we've come to a creative and collaborative partnership and look forward to developing a really exciting album," the glam rocker said in a statement. "We are 100 percent on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings. It's going to be ridiculous! Get Ready!!!"
Lambert unveiled some details of his future plans in his recent Rolling Stone interview -- the same interview where he also came out about his sexuality.
Skip over this content"I can see myself probably doing a little bit of everything," Lambert said in a video for his RS cover shoot. "A rock/pop sound with really strong hooks with, like, a glam edge to it, and a lot of modern production -- a dance-y electronic type of treatment on everything to make it sound current and futuristic."
The announcement comes just one day after 'Idol' winner Kris Allen's announcement that his debut record will be dropping this fall on Jive Records, putting the 'Idol' final two head to head once more.
Lambert will be recording the album this summer while on the road for the Idols Live Tour. The 50-city tour featuring the top 10 contestants kicks off July 5 in Portland, Ore.
"We kind of just started," he continues in the video. "We're at the drawing board; we're trying to figure out what kind of sound we want, what kind of producers we want to work with. Right now, it's all just ideas, nothing's really started yet. So, it's really exciting, because anything can happen."
