It's official: buxom beauty queen Carrie Prejean has been fired by the Miss USA folks for apparently skirting her duties out Californee way.
Donald Trump, the pageant's owner, tells TMZ he OK'd the firing because Prejean failed to fulfill her contractual duties as Miss California -- refusing to appear at around 30 events -- and because she treated her official handlers "like s--t." The firing reverses Trump's decision on May 12 to allow Prejean to stay on despite tension between she and the organization.

Since then, she has missed events and exchanged terse e-mails with the Miss California brass, such as this doozy: "You do not cooperate with me, and you pick and chose [sic] the the [sic] things YOU want me to do. That is not happening anymore. Stop speaking for me. I have MY own voice."
According to the official press release from the Miss California USA Organization, it states that "after our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship..." and "...it has become abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations under out contract and work together."
Prejean's personal beliefs and outspoken advocacy for "opposite marriage" had nothing to do with the move. Neither were those semi-nude photos that got her into hot water last month.
Prejean caused a fire storm at the Miss USA pageant on April 19 after she told judge Perez Hilton that she did not believe in nuptials between persons of the same sex. She has blamed her answer for ending up as the runner-up.
