It was all in good, humanitarian fun, but Jessica Alba is now regretting her involvement -- and photo taking of -- plastering shark conservation posters on top of public billboards in Oklahoma.

On Tuesday, photos of Alba standing proudly in front of a vandalized billboard spread around the Web after being posted on TheLostOgle.com, prompting the 'Sin City' actress to issue an apology. "I got involved in something I should have had no part of. I realize that I should have used better judgment and I regret not thinking things through before I made a spontaneous and ill-advised decision to let myself get involved with the people behind this campaign," Alba said in a statement.

The shark incidents were enough to spark a police investigation. Oklahome City Police Sargeant Gary Knight told the New York Daily News that the posters "were placed around downtown with heavy-duty glue, making them darn near impossible to get off." He went on to say that "it's basically a vandalism case that could involve our new tagger laws."

There's no word as to whether Alba's apology will have any impact on possible prosecution.
