With a self-titled number one album under his belt, Chris Daughtry is ready to make his mark again with the upcoming release of 'Leave This Town.' And this time around, Daughtry and his band mates collaborated a diverse edge of rock, country and dance beats that they're all proud of. "In the studio, we were all chipping in with different ideas, like 'Let's try this guitar part, or this melody,' which we didn't get to do on the last record. This time, everybody's influences seemed to make their way into the songs," he told PopEater.
Front man Chris Daughtry gained national fame after competing on the fifth season of 'American Idol.' Although Daughtry finished in fourth place, it hasn't hurt him. His band's debut album sold more than 1 million copies after just 5 weeks of release, becoming the fastest selling debut rock album in history and eventually reached number one on the Billboard charts. Daughtry's new album 'Leave This Town' will be released on July 14.

What can we expect from the new album, 'Leave This Town'?
Chris: Well there's going to be a lot of variety this time. We have a lot of hard rock tunes on there, pop rock, ballads, and some songs with hints of country, some hints of dance beats, so I think we're going to reach a broader audience this time. I hope so, anyway.
How does the new album compare to the last record?
Josh Paul: We did it as a band! We were actually all on this one, performing our own instruments.
Joey Barnes: Three years of touring has brought us together in one 'glorious' unit.
Chris: I think it's a little grittier too, in a good way.
Joey Barnes: It sounds like a band!
Who brought different contributions to the band?
Josh Paul: All of us, we've grown as a band, by being with each other almost 3 years non-stop; living together, breathing together, playing together.
Steely: We were able to write with each other, too, which let's you feed off the personality of each member.
Chris: The cool thing is that, in the studio, we were all chipping in with different ideas, like "Let's try this guitar part, or this melody," and things like that, which we didn't get to do on the last record. This time, everybody's influences seemed to make their way into the songs.
Brian: It's a nice evolution for the band.
As well as the songs you guys co-wrote together, were there any guest appearances on the album?
Chris: Brian and I wrote a song together called 'Tennessee Line,' which has a bit of a country flavor. See, last time we had Slash on the record, and for this one we had Vince Gill, who I think is one of the greatest country vocalists out there, and he did some great harmonies and vocal bits for the song - which also has a fiddle in it. It's real cool. I just think the whole record is a body of work and I think listening to it from beginning to end is going to take the listener through an entire experience.
