'Today' show weatherman Al Roker turned up the heat on Heidi and Spencer Pratt on Monday in a semi combative and oft-ridiculous interview that has quickly devolved into an all-out war of words.
When an interview begins with ... "Now there are those who say that you guys are the poster children for everything wrong with celebrity in this country ... Do you have any regrets about doing what you do?" ... you know it's gonna be rough. After a few minutes of trying to get to the bottom of the Pratts' eccentric ways and decipher if they were, indeed, sincere about their on-screen actions, Roker mercifully ended the interview. Moments after chatting with the reality duo about their notoriously wacky behavior on 'I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Outta Here,' Roker quipped on his Twitter feed that his guests exhibited "bad and vacuous behavior" and that "we're at minute 11 of their 15" minutes of fame.
Soon after, Heidi was on the horn with Ryan Seacrest, telling his radio show audience about her rough chat with mean ol' Al. TMZ had its radio on and caught these choice remarks:
"I was shocked at how rude he was -- I was crying afterwards because I couldn't believe I felt personally attacked ... I wanted to say to him, do you feel proud of how you're talking to me right now? I'm just a young woman and you're coming at me so aggressively and meanly [sic] and mean-spirited."
Heidi says Roker "made it a very uncomfortable and awful experience."
Then, she calls Roker a danger to his female guests, saying "I really would advise women especially to be careful around him because I feel like he definitely came and attacked me and I did not appreciate that at all."

Later in the day, as the story continued to build, Roker took to Twitter again to address the controversy. "Heidi & Spencer are young and eventually will realize there is more to life than fame," he wrote, adding "In the kitchen making chicken tacos for dinner."
He also aired his frustration with all the attention this trite and "goofy" exchange has garnered over the course of the day.
"Amazed at the fact that Ann Curry had an terrific interview w/ Benjamin Netanyahu but what gets picked up is my goofy interview w/ Speidi"

The tensions have simmered between 'Trek' co-stars William Shatner and George Takei for decades. But it's Shatner who leashes out in a nasty YouTube video after he's left off Takei's wedding guest list.

Andy Samberg's seemingly harmless impression of him on 'Saturday Night Live' didn't sit well with Mark Wahlberg, who told the NY Post that "it wasn't like Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin, that's for sure." He went on to say he's turned down offers to host the late-night staple "a ton of the times."

The war of fists between the Blonsky and Golden families has turned into a war of words, as Blonsky now says she is "completely destroyed" by their July airport brawl.

Mischa Barton vs. Victoria Beckham: The actress has launched a one-woman, and ultimately one-sided, fashion battle with the extremely stylish Spice Girl. "Posh doesn't strike me as particularly stylish," she said. "I don't think she's a good example of British style at all."

Dennis Quaid vs. Meg Ryan: The former husband and wife who divorced in 2001 are feuding again, as Ryan has said in multiple interviews that Quaid's infidelity caused her to have an affair.

Pat O'Brien vs. Lara Spencer : Pat O'Brien, former host and current correspondent of 'The Insider' wrote an email to staffers this weekend, slamming his colleague Lara Spencer. He suggested Spencer's most popular work "makes the viewers want to vomit." Nice.

Roger Ebert vs. Lou Lumenick: Thyroid cancer has literally left Ebert speechless, so when his sightline was obstructed during a screening this week, the critic tried repeatedly to use tapping and gestures to get the attention of the guy in front of him. That dude was rival critic Lou Lumenick, who probably didn't think it through before hitting Ebert on the leg.

Alec Baldwin vs. Greg Garcia: One day after Alec Baldwin criticized 'My Name Is Earl' in the New Yorker, the show's creator/executive producer Greg Garcia took a few jabs at Baldwin, calling him a "psychotic narcissist."

Elton John and Lily Allen took a few under-the-belt shots at each other while they hosted the GQ Men of the Year awards in Britain. John went after Allen's drinking and she shot back and made fun of his age.

"Evil spawn Angelina Jolie and her vacuous hubby Brad Pitt make about forty million dollars a year in violent psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity," Roseanne Barr writes on her blog. She also criticizes the couple for not supporting Barack Obama.

Heidi and Spencer, for their part, have not Tweeted a thing all day.
Tuesday during 'The Today Show, Roker continued to defend himself.
"Was that an attack? I don't think so. I believe I asked what a lot of people wanted to know," he said, Usmagazine.com reports.
In response to Spencer's words that if not for being "saved by Jesus," he would have "ripped" the anchor's head off, Roker added, "If he had tried to come across, I would've dumped him like a bag of dirt."
Furthermore, he brushes off Heidi's sexist remarks. "Come on, I've interviewed hundreds of women on this program and never had a complaint," he said.
