The marriage of hip-hop stars Nas and Kelis didn't make it to the birth of their first child, and according to TMZ, neither will the balance of Kelis' checking account. Reportedly, the 'Milkshake' singer has filed legal papers that claim the father of her unborn child is shirking his financial responsibilities.
"I have run out of money," Kelis says.

Kelis has asked the judge to payments from Nas, including spousal support, child support, pregnancy-related expenses, and half of all medical expenses after the birth. She has also requested $3,500 for a baby nurse and $20,000 for strollers, cribs and other baby-related items.
The statement reads, "My survival is based on [Nas'] will at this time. If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid."
Kelis insists that her soon-to-be ex has the means to pay this kind of support, claiming that their lifestyle together was extravagant. She says, "There were many expensive pieces [of jewelry] such as a princess-cut diamond tennis bracelet that was recently appraised for $190,000. My engagement ring is an approximately nine-carat cushion-cut diamond solitaire. I have numerous watches...such as Cartier, Rolex, Frank Muller and Chopard."
The couple, who married in 2003, is expecting the birth of their child this month.
