The father of 'American Idol' superstar David Archuleta was arrested for misdemeanor soliciting a prostitute at a Utah massage parlor back in January, RadarOnline is reporting.
According to the report, James Jeffrey Archuleta (who generally goes by Jeff) pleaded "no contest" to the charges, and resolved the situation by paying a $582 fine.

    Coolio went from plane-bound to handcuffs when airport screeners reportedly found the rapper in possession of crack cocaine, TMZ reported. Sources also told TMZ that Coolio proceeded to get physical with a screener.

    The woman that was injured in a car crash with Morgan Freeman last August in Mississippi claims the actor was allegedly drinking before he got behind the wheel. She filed a lawsuit on Wednesday.

    According to Reuters, rapper Lil' Wayne will face criminal gun possession charges at a trial scheduled to begin April 20. Prosecutors allege a gun was found in his tour bus in July 2007 and if Wayne is convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison.

Midvale Police Department Detective Sgr. John Salazar spoke with Radar about Archuleta's arrest, saying that they received a call from a citizen about the massage parlor. The caller said that the supposedly legitimate masseuses working there weren't quite dressed appropriately, he got suspicious and notified the police. After a one day undercover operation, Salazar said "five officers, including myself, went in to shut them down."
Salazar says that at the time of the raid, only one client -- Archuleta -- was in the parlor. "He was just finishing up in suite number one. I sent two of the officers in and the male was on his stomach on the table with a masseuse in lace underwear," he says. After questioning Archuleta, Salazar says he admitted to receiving "sexual services."
Archuleta's attorney claims that his client was there strictly for a back problem, and that no sexual activity occurred.
This isn't the first time Mr. Archuleta has found himself in the headlines. During David's 'Idol' run and shortly after, several reports emerged claiming that he was overbearing and hostile towards others -- including his son. David later told TheInsider that his dad "is a great guy" and that "there isn't anything that he has done that is bad like the things that have been spoken about him."
