Usher Protege Justin Bieber Tells Tales, Serenades With 'One Time'

Justin Bieber may only be 15, but he's trying to take his chances with Rihanna. The young singer and protege of Usher had no problem asking the superstar out on a date when he met her recently. Rihanna could hardly refuse his charm, but let him down gently, saying, "Only if you were a little bit older."

Bieber, who stopped by the PopEater offices in New York, sure has a way with the ladies. The Canadian singer even serenaded the female staffers with a few winks as he performed his catchy pop-R&B single, 'One Time.'

The up-and-comer started off as a bit of a YouTube phenomenon before catching the ears of Usher, Justin Timberlake and major label marketing execs. Bieber ultimately signed with Usher and Island Def Jam, and his debut album, 'My World,' drops later this year.

Being associated with such big names so early on in his career excites Bieber, but doesn't make him nervous. "I don't get starstruck," Bieber tells PopEater. And while he's certainly confident, Bieber's not above a little hard work; before meeting with us, he spent some time panhandling in Times Square, making $150 in only an hour.

Since he plays multiple instruments in addition to singing, Bieber also told PopEater that he's set on developing his level of musicianship, and he's looking up to the role models who've paved the way. "I just want to be like Justin," he says.
