Roger Friedman, the columnist who got fired by FOX News this year after he reviewed a bootlegged copy of the 'Wolverine' movie, has hit back with a $5 million lawsuit. In a suit filed Monday in New York, Friedman claims he was illegally canned from his $250,000 (!!!) job and that, actually, the copy he obtained came directly from News Corp. honcho Rupert Murdoch.
Gawker has broken down the whole complaint on their site.
Friedman, who now works for the Hollywood Reporter, claims FOX lawyers didn't respond to his emails about the legalities of writing a review of 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine,' but that 48 hours later his article was taken down without his knowledge.
In the suit, Friedman claims his editor was ordered by Murdoch to remove the article, and the next day he was fired. FOX slammed Friedman and piracy following the firing.
