Cruise-Beckham Relationship Explored

Ever wonder what's behind the Tom Cruise and David Beckham friendship? A new book reveals what the Cruise-Beckham relationship is really like, The New York Daily News reports.
According to 'The Beckham Experiment,' which devotes a whole chapter to Cruise, the soccer star and his wife Victoria are great friends with Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes and Beckham has been heavily influenced by the actor -- including what he named his youngest son.

"I must admit, when [Victoria and I] met Tom, I remember turning around to Victoria and saying, 'Cruise is a great name, but we could spell it different,'" Beckham told the author of the book, Grant Wahl.
Wahl also writes about how Cruise was a big factor into Beckham's decision to sign with the LA Galaxy and that the 'Valkyrie' star even introduced him to other A-List friends, including Will Smith.
The book also mentions that when the Beckhams live in Los Angeles, their home is only five minutes away from the Cruise-Holmes estate. Furthermore, the two couples often spend vacation time together in Colorado, New York City and Napa, CA.
But, David insists Tom doesn't pressure him to convert to Scientology.
"It's something I respect, because Tom's explained to me and Victoria what it's all about. But he's never turned around and said, 'That is what you should be doing,' because he would never do that. He and Katie have their beliefs ... but me and Victoria have also got our own," he said.
