A legendary doorman and sometimes-actor best known for playing Nicolas Cage's brother in 'World Trade Center' was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly cracking a man's head with the metal end of a velvet rope outside NYC hotspot Avenue, Page Six reports.
Wass Stevens, 45, was charged with assault and possession of a weapon after police say he attacked a California college student, sending him to the hospital after the actor/doorman refused to let him and his buddies in to the club.

"He said, 'Shut the ---- up' to my friend. 'Get the ---- out of here,'" Peter Pak said. "He was very condescending. We started cursing at each other and arguing. He lifted the rope and tossed the end metal part at my face . . . My head cracked and I fell to the ground."
Pak said a CAT scan showed no internal damage, but that he now suffers from "huge blaring headaches."
Stevens, who recently played a promoter in 'The Wrestler' ("Two words ... Re Match") and has had recurring roles on 'Law & Order' and 'Ugly Betty,' has claimed his innocence.
"Wass is 100 percent innocent. He was released on his own recognizance, without bail, which I think shows you the weakness of the case."
Before taking up doorman-ing and acting, Wass (real name Mark Wasserman) was a boxer and the former Bronx assistant district attorney (!!!).
