What 'AI' Could Buy With Seacrest's Salary

Ryan Seacrest just signed a deal worth $45 million over three years to continue his hosting duties on 'American Idol.' Don't get us wrong - Seacrest is one of our favorite things about 'Idol,' but we'd be hard-pressed to say anyone deserves $15 million each year to do ANYTHING (though we'll admit the kind of negotiation skills that triple your salary in one fell swoop should be rewarded handsomely). We swear we're not suggesting that 'AI' producers swap Seacrest out for someone cheaper, but we couldn't help thinking of all the things they could buy with an extra $15 mil every year. Like...
The 'American Idol' team could expand by 166 nurses at a competitive yearly salary. We can't imagine why they'd need two or three nurses for every member of the cast and crew of the show, but without Seacrest, they'd have the budget for it.
Those under-age contestants need to learn, right? In lieu of Seacrest's paycheck, they could snag 369 teachers every year. That's a LOT of math.
We don't know why they'd need even one air traffic controller, but according to their average Los Angeles salary, 'AI' could afford 130 of them.
'American Idol' has had its share of scandals - if they felt a need to hire a few extra LA lawyers, they could retain about 115 of them for the cost of one Ryan Seacrest.

Those singers need to eat to keep up their strength for Disco Week, you know. 214 chefs could help.
And if Disco Week proves too taxing for any of them, 55 cardiologists might be just the trick.
For the low, low price of $15 million, 'American Idol' could keep roughly 180 psychologists on hand to help the bottom three deal with their anxiety. (Actually, if Tatiana Del Toro ever comes back, that might not be such a bad idea.)
To help out the Danny Gokeys of the show, Seacrest's salary could also be used to hire 333 dance instructors...
... and 300 voice coaches to prevent those unfortunate 'Dream On' scream moments.
When those burgeoning stars are ready to graduate from the 'AI' stage, why not have 175 talent agents on hand to ease the transition?
