Michael Jackson's longtime dermatologist, who is rumored to be the biological father of his two oldest children, has been subpoenaed for the late King of Pop's medical records.
"We are serving a Coroner subpoena at the office of Dr. Klein to obtain medical records," Craig Harvey, Los Angeles County's chief coroner investigator, tells Usmagazine.com.
Harvey made it clear, however, that it's not an investigation. "We do not investigate physicians, so I cannot comment on that. We routinely serve coroner subpoenas on physicians and hospitals and have served several in connection with this case. I cannot comment on who we have served subpoenas on or what records we have received or not."
TMZ is reporting that Dr. Klein is under investigation, however -- particularly over his prescription practices.
According to Us, Klein recently appeared on Good Morning America to discuss details surrounding Jackson's death and the rumor that the singer regularly took the sedative propofol.
"I say that anyone who makes someone an addict or gives a person potentially dangerous substances directly to them to use, like [anesthesia] propofol is a criminal. It becomes nothing more than a manslaughter, or something worse than that," Klein said.
The results of drug tests performed during Jackson's autopsy may be available at the end of the week.
