Debbie Rowe is taking legal action after a recent news report claimed she was seeking a massive buyout in the custody battle over Michael Jackson's children. Rowe, the ex-wife of Jackson and biological mother of two children, has filed a defamation suit against the woman believed to be the source.
The defamation lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, and contends that a woman named Rebecca White, whom Rowe knows, committed defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. According to Rowe's lawsuit, White allegedly sent phony emails she claimed were from Rowe.
One specific email showed what appeared to be Rowe saying she didn't want custody of the children, and was simply acting like she did to avoid looking bad.
Rowe claims she and White never exchanged e-mails over the matter, nor has she emailed White since Jackson's passing on June 25.
Rowe, who Jackson met while she was working at his dermatologist's office, is the mother of Prince Michael, 12, and daughter Paris, 11. Jackson's youngest, child, seven-year-old Michael II aka "Blanket," has a surrogate mother whose identity is unknown.
