According to Washington State Patrol, Caviezel suffered cuts and bruises after the bicycle was launched in front of his Harley Davidson.
"It could have been a lot worse," Trooper Rich Magnussen said of the incident, stating that Caviezel was wearing a helmet at the time.
There's no word as to why the 40-year-old actor was in the small north-central Washington state town, though he was born in Mount Vernon, Wash.
As to what prompted a 42-year-old man to hurl a bicycle in front of the actor, mental issues may be to blame, Magnussen said.
