Katherine 'Remains Strong' For Kids

With her large grieving family and temporary custody of Michael Jackson's three young children, Katherine Jackson hasn't had much time to deal with her own sense of loss. Prince Michael I, Paris and Prince Michael II (Blanket) are surrounded by cousins at the family home, PEOPLE reports, and Katherine is finally able to grieve.
"It's finally hit her," says a family friend. "She's been crying a lot. Her eyes are constantly red. She can't believe Michael is gone."
The source adds, "She feels horrible for those children, [but] she's determined to remain strong for them."

The King of Pop's mom was named in Michael's will as their guardian. Katherine was awarded temporary custody of the three children pending a hearing scheduled for July 20.
The source claims that the loss of her son is just one of Katherine's problems now. "She is very upset about all the Joe bashing and all the things that are being said about him," says the friend. "Michael's kids love Grandpa Joe. Hearing him trashed makes Katherine really angry."
