Just days after news of Eddie Cibrian's separation - based on allegations of an affair with his Northern Lights' costar LeAnn Rimes - a friend of the singer confirms that Rimes' marriage is also on the outs. PEOPLE reports that Rimes and husband Dean Sheremet are no longer living under the same roof.

"LeAnn and Dean have been separated for quite some time now, but they continue to try and work through their relationship," the source says.

The duo developed a "strong bond" on the set of their upcoming made-for-TV flick 'Northern Lights' and reportedly began having an affair, but Cibrian has flatly denied they are anything more than good friends.

In March, the friend claimed that Rimes and Sheremet were going through a rough patch, but insisted that Cibrian was "not the cause," saying, "There have been issues brewing for months prior to meeting Eddie on set."

Rimes and Sheremet married in 2002, when the singer was 19. Their Nashville home is currently on the market for $7.45 million.

The Us Magazine Video Purportedly of Rimes and Cibrian

Cibrian's wife Brandi Glanville told Us Weekly earlier this week, "Eddie and I have decided to take some time apart. I want to do what is best for our children. Eddie and LeAnn [Rimes] deserve each other."

His manager released a statement saying, "Eddie is a devoted and loving father first and foremost and the speed bump he and Brandi are experiencing needs to be worked out privately for everyone's benefit."
