Friends Reveal Details of LeAnn's Marriage

The news of the separation between LeAnn Rimes and Dean Sheremet may have just surfaced to the headlines, but a new PEOPLE feature shows an inside look into their marriage since the very beginning.

Rimes, who was only 19 when married, and Sheremet were often seen going out together during their time in Nashville -- whether it was at the gym, dining, dancing or shopping. "[LeAnn and Dean] were pretty much inseparable here," said one friend.

In fact, it was Sheremet who helped transform Rimes, 26, into a country teen sweetheart into a sexy star. "When she met Dean, the whole image of who LeAnn Rimes was completely morphed into 'fabulousity,' " said a friend in the music industry.

Sheremet 'saw the potential that was not being tapped,' added the friend. "Her wardrobe, hair and makeup changed almost over night from the time they started being together." Sheremet even choreographed the 2007 music video for 'Nothin' Better to Do' that featured Rimes as a sultry female inmate.

While rumors may cite Rimes' relationship with 'Northern Lights' costar Eddie Cibrian as the cause of the split, other factors of their lives, including their demanding careers, may have caused them to drift from one another.

"I don't think it's unusual considering how young they were [when they wed], and the business they're in," said a member of their social circle.

Rimes' career took her to new heights, and she began to spend more and more time away in Los Angeles as she began to delve into acting. Sheremet, a songwriter, worked in Nashville.

"Maybe there was less of an effort to meet up in those moments where they typically would have met up," said one friend of Rimes.

Recently, Rimes even admitted to fans that sometimes heartbreak is inevitable, though she has also said she's still in touch with Sheremet.

"There's still a lot of love and respect between the two of them," said one friend of Rimes. "But sometimes love might not be enough."
