Paula Abdul has used Twitter to announce that she won't be returning to 'American Idol' this upcoming season. In a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site, Abdul said: "With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return to #IDOL. I'll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all..Cont'd..."She went on to say that she will "miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon." In another tweet, Abdul said that she wants to express "how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me ... I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all."
No reason has been given for Abdul's decision, but FOX television later confirmed the departure in an official statement.
Abdul's return to 'Idol' has been up in the air for weeks. Judge Simon Cowell and host Ryan Seacrest recently inked huge contracts, and new judge Kara DioGuardi earned the backing of Fox executives on Thursday.
The hit show begins taping segments for its ninth season on Thursday in Denver, while the show returns to air in January.

Money or monkey business, AI boss kicked out Paula.
With Paula or without Paula no difference. Judges are to sit down and talk.
If Paula is sad, cry alone. There will be no sympathy from AI. Fans have nothing to do with AI.
Just watch and enjoy music. Music is music while
business is business.

THE QUESTION IS BY NEXT WEEK WILL PAULA EVEN KNOW SHE IS LEAVING AMERICAN IDOL? WILL SHE KNOW TOMORROW...DOES SHE EVEN REMEBER BEING ON THE SHOW?
THE GIRL IS NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE BUTCHER SHOP! SO... LETS WAIT AND SEE IF SHE EVEN REMEMBERS WHEN THEY START TAPING THE NEW SEASON!
PAULA ABDUL.....THE GIRL WHO KNOWS WHAT SHE KNOWS BUT DOES NOT REMEMBER ANY OF WHAT IT IS SHE IS SUPPOSE TO KNOW?

I love Caps Lock.
Whatever happen in the circle of AI administration
I will watch AI. Enjoy the performance.

We are officially done with Idol if this is true. Paula was the heart of the show, and it would not be the same without her. What say someone start a blog or website declaring our intent to NOT watch Idol without Paula? Maybe there is power in numbers? We will truely miss Paula if this is true.

American Idol will never be the same without Paula. She is the only female judge that has given any type of emotion and to the contestants. Shame on those people who didn't give her what she deserved. The show will never be the same without her. I'm truly sorry for Paula and for the upcoming season...
They brought in that no-talent hack Kara to try and intimidate Abdul no one likes her - the show is officially ruined - and to pay Ryan and Simon such enormous amounts of money. I say boycott 'Idol' and support Abdul's next project.

What a joke!!! How could someone so sincere be left out where they are needed the most? Paula is the best of all the judges. Now all what is left is a bunch on insensitive judges who are just there to intimidate kids who are trying their luck. I wont be watching!!!! I'll never watch american idol unless Paula returns. This sucks big time.

Shemp was no Curly and Kara is no Paula. Paula was the stooge-glue who kept it all entertaining.

Paula's down dall was confirmed when last season she thought it was wise to sing and dance on the show. Pretty boring if you ask me. Now if she was being judged she would never have made it to first base.

Paula - you must have something up your sleeve. Get out there and get something like "Star Search" going again and not these Simon Cowel crapbutt shows like "so you think you can dance" and "american idol." We want AMERICAN talent, not the dronings of those stupid Brit judges! (No offense, but this IS America)

The beginning of the end of the Americn Idol mchine. I won't watch it either.

Please, please, take them off the air. I think
the public has had enough of them
She is sickening to watch, She loves every minute
being in front of the cameras.

She turned down an eight figure salary. Thats at least 10 million to us meatballs. She has an offer to host her own dance contest show. Thats the direction she's going.

Oh well there goes another reality show down the drain. Who was the talented executive that let Paula go? It is your fault that the show is now going to crash and burn.
Reply
I am so glad to see her go. Every time she opened her mouth, it was non-ending babble that made no sence.
Reply
That is the end of AI for me. I wont be watching it next season. And I am serious as a heart attack. FOX is thinking, well, folks will come around when the new season airs but I can guarantee I wont be watching. I have been an AI diehard fan from day 1 now I realize this is all for the money. Shame on FOX.

Paula Abdul and Brett Favre should open a waffle house.

This is the last straw for me and I LOVED this show. Kara's comments are annoying and even more derogatory than Simon as she tries to change everyone's personal style of singing while talking like a Valley Girl.
