Beyonce, Gaga Sweep VMA Noms

It will be a battle of the fashionable females at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, as Lady Gaga and Beyonce are the queens of nominations this year. The two pop starlets each earned nine nominations -- including Best Female Video and Video of the Year -- for this year's awards, which takes place on Sept. 13.

Beyonce said she's "excited and honored to be tied," while Gaga says "myself and the Haus of Gaga are honored to receive nine nominations for the 2009 VMAs."

Gaga, who's known for her eccentric artsy style in both her videos as well as her fashion, says she believes "in the immensity and the promise of 'showbiz' and will continue to give it mouth-to-mouth, till its vomiting return. All you need is a camcorder, a flashlight and one truly great idea."

"Thank you, MTV, for being our video flagship, and for supporting this bunch of inspired kids, who love to get wasted and make art together," she continued.

Also in the mix for awards are favorites like Britney Spears, who earned seven nominations for her 'Womanizer' and 'Circus' videos. Earning four nominations each were Kanye West, Eminem and Coldplay.

Ugh! Personally I'm really tired of hearing about both of these women. Gaga is just crap and I think Beyonce is better in a group. I think they are both overrated. No disrespect to anyone who likes them. But congrats to them anyways!

Lady GaGa really doesn't have much of a voice. At least B can sing. GaGa used a lot of extremes..clothes, makeup, hair,etc., to compensate for her lack of talent. Beyonce has a strong voice, but I liked her best as part of Destiny's Child too. They made some good music together, but she's making more money solo. Beyonce is beautiful too. Take that wig and make up off of GaGa and she's a plain jane.
