Fans of 'American Idol' may not be fully on board with her, but Kara DioGuardi has the full seal of approval from FOX and 'Idol' execs now that she's been confirmed for another year on the bench."Kara's spitfire personality and sharp musical sensibility infused 'American Idol' with a new energy last year," FOX president of alternative programming Mike Darnell told The Live Feed. "She clearly has a keen eye for talent -- spotting Adam Lambert's superstar quality early on last season -- and her performance on the season 8 finale was one of the most memorable in recent 'Idol' history."

I WATCHED JON&KATE LAST NIGHT AND I ENJOYED WATCHING THE KIDS AND HOW MUCH THEY'VE GROWN. THEY NEED TO GET KARA OFF OF IDOL SHE TOOK PAULA'S JOB. CAN'T STAND KARA!!

YOU ARE DEAD ON ABOUT ADAM, AND IF IT WAS KARA'S INSISTENCE THAT HE BE ON THE SHOW, THEN I'M BEHIND HER 100%. THIS IS PROBABLY WHY HE WAS MENTIONED IN THE ARTICLE, TO SWING OUR APPROVAL OF HER, BUT IT WORKED! She backed a looser who butched songs and never should have been in the final 10. Granted the whole season sucked and talent was some of the worse yet. It is time for the show to end as the winners picked dont deserve to win and it shows as flop after flop makes a cd. There have been what 3 who actually sold cds from AI. Kara is a big take away from what was left of the show. they should show the auditions then end the season

I understand that Idol needs someone "nice" and I really do love Paula, I really do but I think that Kara made Paula a little more accountable for her actions. Although Paula still has moments I think having Kara made her more responsible and normal. It is going on what, its 9th season I am on the fence I dont like change yet I do. I have to say thought that if Simon wasnt coming back then I might have to think about being a die hard fan to an occasional watcher.

I looked up a little video of Kara on the web. She sang "off key." I was shocked! Obviously, she does not have a good sense of intonation! And SHE'S judging? YIKES!

Kara never claimed to be a singer. She's a songwriter. Just because you can't sing well doesn't mean you can't judge a singing competition. Simon can't sing either, as he's admitted himself.
KARA THINKS SHE'S ALL THAT. AND SHE CAN'T SING AT ALL. jOB STEALER!!!!
Kara was a good addition to AI. Paula cannot even complete a sentence. She is always tripping over her words and you never know what her opinion really is. Adam is the only star ever to set foot on AI's stage. Some of the others made it after their AI stint, but he was a star from the start. Can't wait to see him on stage in his own concert.

I think Kara is dead on as a judge. I fast forward through Paula's ah-um-a-eeh. She can't get anything out of her mouth. She's so irritating to listen to. I love to hear what Kara says about the contestants. She's a keeper

I think it's about time they made a change at the judge's table. I will probably tune in this season. I really haven't watched since season 4 when Carrie Underwood won. Incedentially, she and Kelly Clarkson are the best to come from that show.
To bad, Idol will lose many viewers, because Kara is a jerk and only runes the enjoyment of watching. Different station next season, I know another station will have something more interesting to watch. Shame on you Idol exes.

Hurrah for Kara, she has class, music sense and talent. The antics of Simon and Paula are getting a little stale. They carry on with each other and are rude during the other judges time. Simon's boorishment has been accepted and seems to be even like by some, but I think it has become almost a joke. I love watching American Idol, but it used to be more enjoyable to watch. Kara has helped make it better.
