'Idol' Bigs Stick Up for Kara

Fans of 'American Idol' may not be fully on board with her, but Kara DioGuardi has the full seal of approval from FOX and 'Idol' execs now that she's been confirmed for another year on the bench.

"Kara's spitfire personality and sharp musical sensibility infused 'American Idol' with a new energy last year," FOX president of alternative programming Mike Darnell told The Live Feed. "She clearly has a keen eye for talent -- spotting Adam Lambert's superstar quality early on last season -- and her performance on the season 8 finale was one of the most memorable in recent 'Idol' history."

Darnell is presumably speaking about when DioGuardi donned a bikini and showed off her singing chops, and not 'No Boundaries,' the complicated and oft-criticized track she wrote for the two finalists.

So far, DioGuardi isn't the only 'Idol' regular to officially sign on for another year. Host Ryan Seacrest and fellow judges Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson are coming back, but Paula Abdul has yet to sign on the dotted line.

"We are so happy to welcome back Kara for her second season with 'Idol," said executive producer Simon Fuller. "She is a breath of fresh air, and her passion for music and her understanding of talent is invaluable. This show is all about discovering new talent, and Kara's championing of Adam Lambert is proof positive of her great instinct."

I enjoy watching Paula... you never know what will happen next with her... the entertainment is endless! I can't stand kara... if Paula leaves the show... I am not longer going to watch and I have never missed a show since the very beginning! They should have stayed with the three original judges... if it aint broke.. dont fix it!

This is what I dont understand..... most of viewers dont like Kara, but the producers are still keeping her on?? Personality? She has the vocabulary of a 1st grader.... "you owned that song and made it your own"....was all she said week after week. Musical sensibility? Did he forget the awful song she wrote for the final Idol. Do they think the majority of the viewers are going to change their minds this season?..... well they are not. By the higher ups fixing something that is not broken, that will be the downfall of AI

Just like Conehead Obrien.... viewers have been telling NBC for a year they didnt want him to take Leno's place, but NBC pushed him in our faces. Now they are losing audiences and wonder why? These few producers are going by what THEY like, not what the viewing audiences likes....... Oh well, there is plenty of room for the least favorite 100 shows on TV.

I THINK THE IDOL BIG WIGS JUST GET OFF ON HER BECAUSE SHE IS A SEXPOT...I HOPED THEY WOULDN'T SIGN HER AGAIN..PAULA ABDUL IS STILL THE BEST...SHE SEEMS ALWAYS HIGH BECAUSE SHE IS ON PAIN MEDS FOR HER BACK ...THIS GAL HAS GONE THROUGH MANY OPERATIONS FOR HER BACK...THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS SHE DOESN'T SIT ALL THE TIME..I FOR ONE STILL WANT HER ON...THAT IS MY STORY & I AM STICKING TO IT...OFF WITH KARA..

I think this whole thing with Jon & Kate is sickening...I feel so sorry for those poor kids..what kind of life they are going to have...I think they should be taken away from the both of them...give them to someone who really appreciates children...we were given children to love & nourish them...not to exploit them...Jon & Kate are 2 very selfish people...I would never watch that show..I don't want them gettig rich because I watch them...if everyone would stop watching them it would help...but as long as people watch this garbage they will line their pockets with our money...get them off the air..then see what they have...this whole divorce is to beef it up for more of our hard earned money...I would rather turn my tv off than watch them...

My husband and I found Kara and her personality unbearable. While we have been avid followers of idol from the beginning, we will now definitely not watch this year. Kara is a big reason for that. Found ourselves fast forwardign on DVR to get past her blatherings. Also, hated the preliminary shows, and Hollywood, Idol needs to take a lesson from the so you think you can dance show.

They just don't need four judges, it slows down the show. I hope Kara keeps her "chops" comments to a minimum this year, her repeatative use of that word was annoying.

anyone who wrote or co wrote "no boundaries" should be ashamed of themselves for such corny obvious manipulative TRASH. If i was Kara i would walk around with a bag on my head for writing such SLOP. She must give good blow **** to be keeping her job on IDOL. Why else would they possibly want such a FRAUD?

Adam lost the American vote. Seems like when you like the results you are all for it but when you don't you say the results were rigged. Most are the same way politically.

As much as the judges liked him, Adam was not appealing to the mainstream voter. It was obvious at the end for the top 5. Like it or not, Kris got all of Danny's votes and many of the young girls as well.

Adam is clearly an experienced entertainer and somewhat was too polished. His style appealed more to the loud voters, goths, rockers and of course the gay and politically correct community. The result showed they do not constitue a majority.

If this is rigged how did Taylor Hicks win? It may not please those that loose but in spite of the obsessive support of Adam from the judges America voted for Kris. Maybe more against Adam, but Kris never the less.

Many thought Adam put on the best show but didn't like his scream voice. Based on those I know, they got tired of his style. Maybe due to the overexhuberance of the judges but it seemed Adam slipped.

Also, you can't ignore his personal life. Right or wrong it plays a part in how these contestants are view. They heavily played the single black mom feature for Fantasia and no one seemed to mind since she won. Her personal life clearly helped her plus she was a good but not great singer.

Just proves it is a free country (for a while at least) and in these less than stellar days we are living in, the vote still decides on AI at least for now.

i knew when they hired kara that she would replace paula.they denied it. now simon gets 100 million, ryan gets 15 and they offer paula 10 when she asks for 20.yes she is crazy,goofy and talks nonsence.she is also kindhearted and give praise and hope to some who would otherwise be crushed at auditions. she is also entertaining. i only watch the auditions. i stopped watching when fantasia london and jennifier was in the botton 3.

AI re-signed Kara because she has a "keen eye for talent?" Millions of viewers saw that Adam Lambert is a talent. Makes me think that AI was trying to get rid of Paula all along.

Welcome Back Kara. I loved the Studio Version of No Boundries. I loved Adam Lamberts version. I have decided after the outcome of last seasons scam of a voting system...I wouldn't waste my time voting anymore. I truly believe AI needs a new voting system. Also...it is absolutly crazy how much $$$$$$$ Simon & Ryan are getting paid. Shame on you AI...It's like a slap in the face for Paula to wait and not offered her something comparable. The chemistry between Paula & Simon is comical at best. You lost another religous "Cougar" viewer. Good Luck Paula! YOU will be missed!!!
