Bikinis, Awkwardness Headline 'Jon & Kate' Return to TV

TLC's hit reality show 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' is back after more than month since the Gosselins decided to end their 10-year marriage. On Monday, the first of dueling episodes centered on bikini-clad mom Kate Gosselin taking a beach vacation with their kids while her soon-to-be ex husband stayed home to renovate their kitchen.

Jon Gosselin noted it was "kind of strange we're remodeling our kitchen in the middle of our separation, but it's something that we already planned beforehand."

"I think Kate and I needed a break from each other. This landed at a good time. Kate could take the kids to the beach, and I could stay here and supervise cabinet construction." Fun!

While on vacation in North Carolina, Gosselin showed off a new orange bikini covering her you-had-how-many-kids? body.

The second episode excluded Jon altogether and focused on, get this, the kids. It featured Kate and the children camping in their backyard and later they all took a dip in their pool, with mom wearing a blue bikini.

What do you know? A positive article by PopEater! I watched the shows and thought they were good. I think Jon and Kate are doing the best they can with their situation.

It's my understanding that they got her a tummy tuck. She also visits the tanning salon and probably a gym on a regular basis while a team of nannies watch her brood. OF COURSE she looks like that. Most of us don't have those luxuries given to us. I, for one, as a single mom, base all my activities on where I can take the kids with me and when. It's quite limiting at times. So, really it's not as much a credit to her as it is to the team of people that made her look that good.

Luxuries? Her tummy tuck was a gift from a fan of the show. Who ironically is the father of Jon Gosselin's new girlfriend.

I agree with you! I don't think she looks all that hot given her age. Sure she's had all those children (or should I say "money makers") but she had surgery too. She has a thick lower body - butt, thighs and legs. Her surgery and tanning bed visits, facials etc., are something that most of us can not afford. Oh, yea, we could exploit or children too! Why didn't I think of that?

Interesting comments. I assume you live in the same house with Kate and her children. That explains why you feel you are an expert on her life. The TV has the option to change the channel and not watch. Seems like people hate the program but can't stay away.

OMG you guys are sooo jealous,If you don't have the "so called" luxuries that she may have then here's an idea you can always tan the old fashioned way in the "SUN" and have you not heard of sit ups or stomach crunches...duh! Just a thought. Oh and I won't even mention the word "babysitter" as opposed to nannie...I know ALOT of single mom's who have lives too....

A decent body alone is not enough to attract someone to Kate. Anyone who dates her would have to take a backseat to her quest for fame, as well as accept harsh criticism from her on a regular basis. I'd rather stay single than date someone who feels and acts like the one solely in charge of all aspects of the relationship.

I agree. I cannot stand the sight and sound of her. I watched the show from the beginning, and was horrified at the way she treated Jon and the other people around her in her quest for control and attention. Jon's no saint, but I do believe that his beginning to stand up for himself is what led Kate to pull the plug on the marriage long before anyone saw Jon hanging out with young girls. She is constantly trying to shape her words to blame Jon for the changes in their family. Don't fall for how they try to portray her on the show. The producers are just trying to make more money off of those kids.

I did watch the new show last night. I wanted to enjoy it but, I found myself feeling sad and uncomfortable. Not my idea of entertainment. I am not sure I want to watch any more. I wish them the best and hope they each find peace, real happiness and some maturity couldn't either.
