Michael Douglas' Son Caught in Meth Sting

The actor son of 'Traffic' and 'Wall Street' star Michael Douglas was arrested in New York late last month for possession of huge amounts of crystal methamphetamines with the intent to sell.

According to TMZ and the NY Post, 30-year-old Cameron Douglas was nabbed on July 28 at the Gansevoort Hotel in Manhattan's stylish Meat-Packing District during an undercover drug bust by a DEA task force. Law enforcement sources indicate he had a half-pound of the hard drug, which goes for about $80 - $150 a gram on the streets.

He is reportedly still in custody.

This isn't his first brush with the law. He also was arrested in California in 2007 on cocaine possession charges. His attorney then said the arresting officer didn't do his job properly.

Douglas has acted in movies including 2003's 'It Runs in the Family,' starring his father and grandfather, Kirk Douglas, but his Hollywood career has sputtered since then. According to his IMDB page, Douglas' next project is 'The Beautiful Outsiders,' a film in pre-production also starring Corey Feldman and Shannen Doherty.

He reportedly told police he was going fast because he had missed his exit. The 'Hey Ya' mastermind is free on $1,200 bond pending a court date April 29.

I wish I could reply to the "repliers". Their comments are worse than the ones they're replying to. And who in the hell brought politics (D or R) into a report about Hollywood? Ridiculous. But since it's been brought up, there are as many trashy politicians on each side of the aisle. The letter in front of their name doesn't make a difference. The only difference originally was that the R's were more of a conservative group, meaning lower taxes, etc and the D's were tax and spenders. Well Bush (GW) became a tax and spender. Now Obama has gone WAY overboard. Ten times worse than Bush in only 8 months. This country can't afford 4 full years of this. And the problem with change in Washington is that only a R or D will be elected. There is no chance for an independent (3rd) party to get someone into a high position. They only muck it up for the 2 major parties. I'm a Republican. A lot (most) on here I think are Democrats and for those that say they're Independents - bullhockey. The only independent is a person that's afraid to admit they're Democrats (LOL). Oh yeh, as to Michael's kid, let him go and rot in jail selling drugs. Maybe it was only for his party goers and not the kids in high school or younger.

It doesnt matter who his father is. It matters that the government has made it a crime. He will face the same system as anyone else. Perhaps with a better lawyer but there will still be a judge before him. What I think is more relevant is the fact that the nasty, jealous, and mean spirited comments seem to come from the supposed conservative right wing side and they do not understand why he was arrested or what evil he has done. When I first began watching Jon and Kate Plus Eight back in Nov. '08, Kate's treatment of Jon would drive me nuts. When the rumors of Jon's infidelity began to surface I believed Jon that the rumors weren't true. Then he shows up on the last show of the season wearing diamond studs and saying that he's both sad and excited about his future because he's only 32. What kind of a jerk would say he is excited to be leaving his children. Now I wonder if Kate's egging and proding wasn't necessary after all because Jon sure is acting like a dumb lump. Imagine taking that ugly mistress to Europe to began her own footwear line, ha ha ha, is he a retard?

What Jon should have done was to have stood up to Kate from the beginning then maybe the two could have had a long life together watching their kids grow up.

But Jon is the most despicable man I've seen in a long time. It would please me so much if TMZ were to dump him asap!!! If he has ideas of bringing that equally retarded woman on the show I hope TMZ tells them both to go jump. Perhaps Jon and the uggo girl won't last too long since Jon can't go anywhere in the country without being hackled and ridiculed. If I were to see him anywhere I sure would shout a few constructive words his way.

I don't feel one iota of sympathy for these spoiled rich-bitch brats of entertainment celebrities who get into trouble, take drugs, or whatever. They should be grateful they have the privilege of their material lifestyles they are born into. Some of us were not so fortunate to have what they have growing up.

Children of the wealthy sometimes lack self esteem, a goal in life, they need to be loved, but not spoiled. The same goes for ghetto kids. Its more psychological than financial. Some kids are go getters, have an interest or talent, and others just dont cope well in this world. As they get older, if they dont kill themselves with drugs, they often make the effort to go straight, but it is very hard to do. Most dont make it. We dont do enough to educate kids and parents, or help them recover.
